How to Create a Meaningful Morning Routine

Make It Intentional.

How you do anything is how you do everything. By beginning your day intentionally, you can begin to change your life. What does your morning routine look like now? Maybe you check emails on your phone as soon as the alarm goes off, or hit the snooze a few times, trying to squeeze those few extra minutes of relaxation before the chaos of your day envelops you. Regardless of what habits you have created for your morning routine, how often do you evaluate which ones are no longer serving you?

By dedicating yourself to creating mindful rituals to the waking moments of your day, you can take back control of how you respond to the rest of your day. When you begin by placing yourself and your needs first, you create new patterns of self-love. There are several ways to practice this, such as: journaling, exercise, yoga, meditating, going for a short walk, or drinking a cup of coffee on your porch, as you listen to nature welcoming the sunrise. Whether it’s one or two of these practices, or a combination of them all, listen to what your body needs, and practice with intention. The point is, you set the tone for how you would like to respond to whatever happens in the rest of your day by beginning your day in the mindset of connecting with your [Higher] Self.

Take some time to think about what you need most to create the new morning routine your mind and body are craving, what is not serving you now, and give yourself permission to evolve and explore in your practices. You can rewire your nervous system for peace, one step at a time. Change your routines, change your mind, change your life.
